FAQ
Hygiene: Just like any toothbrush, good hygiene comes down to proper care. Rinse thoroughly after each use and store your toothbrush in a well-ventilated area so it can dry between uses. For optimal oral hygiene, dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 2–3 months.
Durability: Our bamboo toothbrush is designed for everyday use and performs just like a conventional toothbrush. When properly cared for and allowed to dry between uses, it will comfortably last the recommended 2–3 months of regular brushing.
Animal bristles: Our toothbrush bristles are made from natural horse and boar hair. These traditional materials have been used in brush making for centuries and provide a completely plastic-free alternative to synthetic nylon bristles. The hair is sourced as a by-product of existing agricultural industries and carefully cleaned and sterilised before use.
Composting: Our toothbrush is made entirely from natural materials and is fully compostable. Once it reaches the end of its life, you can simply place it in your home compost or garden soil where it will naturally break down over time.
It is normal for the bristles to shed: It's completely normal for a few natural bristles to shed during the first couple of uses. Because we don't use synthetic glues, a small number of loose bristles may come away as the bamboo handle settles after its first contact with water. This is only temporary and should stop after the first few brushes. If you're new to natural bristle toothbrushes, it can be a little unexpected. We simply recommend giving your WildBristle toothbrush a couple of days before deciding what you think.
How are the Bristles cleaned: Every WildBristle natural bristle is put through a strict multi-stage cleaning and sterilisation process before use. The bristles are thoroughly scoured, washed and steam sterilised at approximately 100°C for up to 6 hours to help remove naturally occurring biological matter. The result is clean, hygienic, odour-free bristles that are ready for safe, everyday use.
Are the bristles glued into the bamboo handle: Every WildBristle toothbrush is designed without the use of glues or adhesives. Our natural bristles are mechanically secured into the bamboo handle using a pressure-fit method, creating a strong, reliable hold. By eliminating unnecessary adhesives, we keep our toothbrushes as simple, natural and environmentally responsible as we can
